CIPRNet Young CRITIS Award (CYCA)

[Click for more information]Critical Infrastructure Protection. The award has been granted during the annual CRITIS conferences in 2014, 2015 and 2016. 

At CRITIS 2014 in Limassol, Cyprus, the first CYCA has been bestowed (Call text: 2014 call).

The second CYCA has been bestowed at CRITIS 2015 in Berlin, Germany.

The third CYCA has been awarded at CRITIS 2016 in Paris, France.

The conference chairs of CRITIS 2017 intend to continue with CYCA, maybe in slightly different form. Watch out for announcements at forthcoming CRITIS events!

The 2016 CIPRNet Young CRITIS Award (CYCA) honoured the top young engineer/scientist who participated at CRITIS 2016. The award for outstanding research in Critical Infrastructure Security and Protection sponsored by EU FP7 Project CIPRNet, is successfully promoting the activities of young researchers form industry and research institutions. From 17 submissions we selected 6 CYA candidates for awarding, based on the peer evaluation of their paper.

The co-winners of this third CYCA were Tingting Li and Amélie Grangeat both with outstanding performance also in presenting the contribution. Tingting Li and Chris Hankin wrote the paper “Effective Defence Against Zero-Day Exploits Using Bayesian Networks”. Amélie Grangeat and Julie Sina, Vittorio Rosato, Aurélia Bony and Marianthi Theocharidou wrote the paper “Human intrinsic properties of something resulting in susceptibility to a risk source that can lead to an event with a consequence
[Click for more information]vulnerability mapping facing critical service disruptions for crisis managers”.

Four finalists competing with the winners were: Sridhar Adepu, Sabarathinam Chockalingam, Steve Muller and Stefano Sebastio. The contribution they were involved with a major part of their own research were:
